During 2024, several negotiations took place between representatives of Novicom and Vietnamese companies with the aim of building on the successful pre-Covid business cooperation. In August 2024, the first wave of negotiations took place in Hanoi, at which Jindřich Šavel, CEO of Novicom, discussed the possibilities of cooperation on the Vietnamese market together with representatives of PAMA, Novicom's channel partner in Vietnam, for example with MobiFone Corporation, which was established as the first mobile telecommunications network in of Vietnam in 1993 and originally known as Vietnam Mobile Telecom Services Company (VMS).
At the end of 2024, Novicom representatives successfully followed up on the previous negotiations and visited several places.
On December 17, 2024, Jindřich Šavel (CEO) and Le Phuong Ninh (Commercial Head of Asia Region) met at the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications in Hanoi with the Deputy Minister, Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong, where they expressed their desire to share experience in the field of information security and also expand partnerships with agencies, businesses and partners in Vietnam.
"Information sharing and cooperation in dealing with cyber incidents are necessary in the context of the worldwide growing risks of cyber security attacks", said Jindřich Šavel at the meeting.
Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong welcomed the cooperation in the development and provision of information technology services and products between the two parties, as well as the cooperation in research and development between Novicom in particular, and Czech enterprises in general, with Vietnamese academies and universities, including the Technological Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, and stated, that he hopes that specific cooperation projects will arise in the near future.
Novicom representatives also expressed interest in cooperation on December 18 during a visit to the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) university - one of the leading universities in Vietnam with the cutting-edge majors in the field of ICT and pioneers in digital transformation and digital universities. This unique university falls under Vietnam's Ministry of Information and Communications.
The December visit to Vietnam was concluded with the 4-day international exhibition Viet Nam International Defense Expo 2024, which was organized by the Ministry of National Defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from December 19 to 22, 2024 in the area of Hanoi Gia Lam Airport in Vietnam.
Novicom solutions were presented here thanks to the business partner, PAMA, at the OMNIPOL Group stand.
Over 200 exhibitors from more than 50 countries presented themselves at the event. The Czech Republic was represented at the exhibition by several other companies. Among the areas covered by the exhibition were public safety equipment and systems, including cyber security systems and cybercrime prevention.
